CSGO: Defunct
Defunct is a CS2 map I made to give Hammer 2 a test drive and I gotta say it's really impressive. I really enjoyed working out why our most loved maps are so loved and most of it boils down to being simple and being broken. I hope I capitalized on both of those areas with Defunct.
A few things I learned during this project:
Hammer 2's on demand raytraced lighting is AMAZING. Seriously give it a try if you haven't.
Being able to compile and have the AI do exactly what they are supposed to is sorcery and I don't trust it.
Sightlines in CS2 are longer than most team shooters and I initially started with a much smaller map, expanding over time and eventually opening up the entire bridge side. I imagine that would be similar to Dust 2's "long".
